ASANSKA FC AND TRUE LIFE FC SHINE IN 2025/26 MTN FA CUP

Two clubs from the Greater Accra Regional Football Association (GARFA), True Life FC and Asanska FC, delivered outstanding performances in the 2025/26 MTN FA Cup to qualify to the next stage of the competition, showcasing the strength and competitiveness of the SOCCABET Division Two League.

Despite being matched against some of the country’s top-tier sides in the Ghana Premier League and Division One League, both teams displayed remarkable character, tactical discipline, and resilience to secure famous victories.

True Life FC produced the biggest upset of the round with a sensational win over giants Accra Hearts of Oak at the Pobiman Park. After a tense and balanced first half that ended goalless, True Life FC returned from the break with renewed determination, scoring the only goal of the match to seal qualification to the Round of 32. The result sparked huge celebrations among the visiting players and fans, while frustrated Hearts supporters voiced their displeasure at their team’s performance.

At the Dansoman Carl Reindolph Park, Asanska FC, led by experienced coach Ben Fokuo, formerly of Heart of Lions, Medeama SC, and the Black Princesses, put on an emphatic display to eliminate Great Ambition FC. Their commanding performance earned them a deserved place in the next stage of the competition.

The impressive wins by both clubs underline the growing competitiveness of the GARFA Division Two League, which kicked off almost 10 weeks ago and continues to sharpen teams for national challenges.

As Asanska FC and True Life FC advance deeper into the tournament, hopes are high that they will continue to build confidence, maintain their momentum, and push for a historic run to the finals, and possibly lift the trophy.

GARFA Chairman Samuel Aboabire expressed pride in their achievements, saying:
“We are extremely proud of both clubs and wish them success in their upcoming matches. GARFA remains committed to providing all the necessary support as they continue to raise the flag of the region and enhance the image of our league.”
