GFA AND GARFA HOST “JUSTIFY YOUR INCLUSION” SCOUTING EVENT FOR NATIONAL U17 AND U19 TEAMS

The Ghana Football Association (GFA), in collaboration with the Greater Accra Regional Football Association (GARFA), has launched a two-day national scouting exercise aimed at selecting players for the U17 and U19 national teams. The event, held at the Tema Sports Stadium, saw around 400 players from the Greater Accra Division Two, Division Three, and Colts leagues compete for a place in the national squads.

Commencing at 7:00 AM, the exercise was led by National U19 Head Coach Abdul Karim Zito, with support from former Kumasi Asante Kotoko striker Eric Kwabena Bekoe, Dauda Solomon Lutterodt, and several regional scouts. GARFA officials, including Chairman Samuel Aboabire, League Board Chairman George Aforklenyuie, and Juvenile Committee Chairman Michael Kobla Fiaduse, were also present to encourage and support the aspiring footballers.

By the end of the first day, 45 promising players were shortlisted for further evaluation and consideration for the national U17 and U19 teams. The second day of the exercise will take place at the Teshie McDan AstroTurf, where additional players will have a final opportunity to demonstrate their abilities to the coaching staff and scouts.

This “Justify Your Inclusion” exercise is a vital initiative for identifying and nurturing young football talent across the nation. The GFA and GARFA are dedicated to fostering the development of these players, providing them with the platform to compete at both national and international levels. Those selected will undergo further training, with the aim of representing Ghana in future global football competitions.
