Following the completion of the first round of the SOCCABET Division Two League and ahead of the commencement of the second round this weekend, the leadership of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association (GARFA) on Wednesday held a successful stakeholders’ meeting involving clubs, committee members, and key partners.
The meeting, which recorded near-full attendance from stakeholders, was highly collaborative, educative, and progressive. Discussions focused on key areas including officiating, sponsor value and mileage, security at match venues, supporters’ conduct, and other pertinent matters. Stakeholders were also taken through clarifications on the Regional Leagues Regulations, while the draw for the maiden Women’s Division One FA Cup was conducted.

In attendance were the GARFA Chairman, Mr. Samuel Aboabire; Vice Chairman, Mr. Gabriel Godwin Kwao; League Board Chairman, Mr. George Aforklenyuie; Referees Committee Chairman, Mr. C. M. Atsatsa; members of the Executive Council; and representatives from SOCCABET, Ashlid Sports, and Game TV. Members of the various GARFA committees were also present.
The successful stakeholders’ engagement is expected to significantly enhance competitiveness and overall improvement of the league as the second round begins.
Expressing his satisfaction, League Board Chairman, Mr. George Aforklenyuie, stated:
“I am very pleased with the outcome of the meeting, especially the positive response from our clubs. Many issues that were previously unclear to stakeholders have now been clarified. I am confident that this collaborative and educative engagement will contribute greatly to the growth and smooth running of the league, particularly in the second round.”
