RIDGE CITY FC WOMEN LIFT FA CUP AS SISSAMBA LADIES DOMINATE CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS FINAL

The Greater Accra Regional Football Association (GARFA) brought the curtain down on the 2025/26 Women’s Division One season in style, delivering two thrilling finals that showcased the growing strength and quality of women’s football in the region.

Ridge City FC Women emerged victorious in the Women’s FA Cup, edging out Epiphany Next Gen Ladies in a pulsating 3–2 encounter. Despite an early scare, Ridge City displayed resilience and determination, eventually asserting their dominance in a fiercely contested match. Both sides showed great intent, but Ridge City’s sharper edge in key moments proved decisive.

In the Champion of Champions clash, Sissamba Ladies delivered a commanding performance to overpower Immigration Ladies with a resounding 6–1 victory at the Madina Zongo Astro Turf. From the first whistle, Sissamba Ladies controlled proceedings, dictating the tempo and capitalizing on their attacking superiority to overwhelm their opponents. Immigration Ladies managed only a consolation goal in what was otherwise a one-sided affair.

Originally scheduled to include the FIFA U-15 Girls Regional Colts League final, the event was streamlined to feature the FA Cup and Champion of Champions finals, both of which lived up to expectations and provided a fitting climax to the season.

At the end of the day, Ridge City FC Women were crowned FA Cup champions and awarded medals alongside the coveted trophy, while Sissamba Ladies lifted the League Champions trophy amid jubilant celebrations. The Champion of Champions fixture brought together the winners of the zonal leagues, which concluded just weeks earlier. Runner-up medals were also presented to Epiphany Next Gen Ladies and Immigration Ladies.

The finals attracted an impressive crowd, with spectators treated to high-quality football marked by skill, intensity, and entertainment.
GARFA’s Chairman, Executive Council members, and officials from the Women’s League Board were present to grace the occasion and honor the outstanding performances.

Following their strong showing, both Sissamba Ladies and Immigration Ladies have secured qualification to represent the Greater Accra Region at the upcoming Women’s Regional Middle League, where they will compete for a place in next season’s Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.
