GARFA U15 GIRLS CLINCH TITLE AT INAUGURAL ELITE U15 REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Greater Accra Regional Football Association (GARFA) U15 Girls’ team emerged triumphant at the maiden edition of the GFA Elite U15 Regional Championships, held at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.

The talented young side, assembled from various Women’s Division One clubs across the Greater Accra Region, displayed dominance and cohesion throughout the tournament, winning every match en route to the final. In an impressive run of form, the team netted 15 goals while maintaining a flawless defensive record, conceding none.

Individual brilliance complemented the collective effort, with GARFA players earning Woman of the Match accolades in every game they played.

Chairperson of the Women’s League Committee, Cleopatra Nsiah Nketiah, praised the team’s performance and the commitment of the technical staff.

“I’m incredibly proud of the girls and the entire technical team. Despite the short preparation window, they showed discipline, determination, and exceptional talent. They went there with something to prove and they did it, remarkably,” she said.

Nsiah Nketiah also revealed that plans are underway to keep the group together for regular training sessions, with the hope of attracting national team interest.

“This is a proud moment for us as a Regional Association. Their success will undoubtedly inspire us to invest more in youth development,” she added.

The victory marks a significant milestone for women’s youth football in the region and underscores the growing talent pool at the grassroots level.
