GARFA U17 COLTS SECURE SEMI-FINAL BERTH IN KGL INTER-REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

The Greater Accra Regional U17 Colts team has booked their place in the semi-finals of the 2025 KGL Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship after an impressive run in the group stages, finishing top of Group A with 14 points, 3 points ahead of second-placed Western Region.

Displaying a commendable blend of resilience, tactical discipline, and creative flair, the GARFA U17 side has emerged as one of the standout teams in the tournament. Their consistent performances have not only captivated fans but have also drawn the attention of national team scouts and coaches present at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence.

Having established themselves as favourites for the title, the team will now face Ashanti Region in a much-anticipated semi-final clash scheduled for this afternoon. The fixture will be broadcast live on Max TV.

Speaking ahead of the crucial encounter, Greater Accra Regional Football Association Chairman, Samuel Aboabire, expressed pride in the team’s achievements so far and confidence in their ability to go all the way.

“I am very proud of the boys and the technical team. It was unfortunate we couldn’t win the Elite U15 tournament, so we are very determined to claim this title. Together with my fellow ExCo members, we’ve invested the necessary resources to ensure the team is mentally and physically prepared. We’ll be at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence to support them, and I believe victory will be ours,” Aboabire said.

The KGL Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship is an annual competition created by the Kurt E. S. Okraku led GFA administration aimed at promoting grassroots football, providing young talents with competitive exposure, and serving as a scouting ground for national youth team selectors.

As the GARFA U17 team gears up for their semi-final showdown, hopes are high that they can continue their strong form and push for the championship title.
