RECAP INTO GARFA JUVENILE INTER DISTRICT ZONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

The Inter District Juvenile Championship successfully took place at the Madina Astro Turf yesterday 10th May 2023.
The tournament which its organisation came directly under the Juvenile Committee of GARFA showcased a number of budding talents who put up their best in order to get a spot in the final selection list of the Technical Directorate of GARFA and to impress the Scouts of various senior clubs around to watch the games.
The tournament kicked off at 10am with Zone 4 and 3 starting. It ended in a 2:1 win for Zone 4. The next match was played between Zone 1 and 2 which also ended in a 3:2 win for Zone 2.
Teams that lost their matches had to compete for third (zone 3) and fourth (zone 1) place.
Zone 2 and 4 had to battle for first and second place and Zone 2 were over all winners on the day.
In pursuant for the objective of this tournament, 30 players were scouted from among all four zones.
The yet to be formed Technical team shall supervise the training of these 30 selected young lads after which a
final team of 23 shall be shortlisted to represent GARFA KGL Juvenile team set for June 20, 2023 at Kumasi.
Players who played and got selected in the GARFA Juvenile Inter Zonal District Tournament in Accra at the Madina Zongo AstroTurf shall generally form the core of the Greater Accra team for the National Inter Regional Championship.
Notable personalities that graced the occasion were the Chairman of Greater Accra Regional Football Association, Mr. Samuel Aboabire, his Vice, Mr. Gabriel Godwin Kwao, Mr. Salim of Inter Millas Football Club, Mr. Abudul-Hayye Yartey who is the Chief Executive Officer of Cheetah Football Club, some scouts and friends of the Football Association.
All those present especially some scouts we interacted with were very impressed about the general organisation of the tournament which was also live on social media.
