GFA REGIONAL WOMEN CHAMPIONSHIP AND GARFA’s IMPACT

The Greater Accra Regional Football Association presented two of its elite Women Division One Champions to the just ended Ghana Football Association Regional Women Division One Championship (Southern Zone) namely Epiphany Warriors FC and Jonina Ladies FC.

Two of very resilient women clubs from 5 different regions of Ghana were to qualify to the Ghana Women Premier League 2023/24 football season from the Southern Zone.

Western Regional FA presented Hasspot Ladies FC, Central Region FA presented Sea Lions FC, Eastern Regional FA presented Kotoku Rush Ladies FC and Volta Regional FA also presented Anlo Ladies FC.

It was indeed a fierce competition as each of the regions tried to prove their worth and value in the football ecosystem.

It is evident from current league standings that, GARFA indeed is the landlord of grass-root football, as two of its clubs made lasting impressions at the just ended league placing Second and Third on the Southern Zone’s league table.

Jonina Ladies FC made it to the GFA Women Premier League 2023/2024 League Season. Epiphany  Warriors FC thinly lost the opportunity to qualify after their impressive 6:0 win against Western Regional Women best side, HassporT FC performance in the league.

Jonina Ladies FC played 5 matches, won 4, drew none and lost 1 with accumulative 12points, whereas Epiphany Warriors FC played 5 matches, won 3, drewn 1 and lost 1 with an accumulative 10 points on the league table.

Congratulations to Jonina Ladies FC and Epiphany Warriors FC for a splendid performance at the just ended GFA Regional Women Championship.
