The Greater Accra Regional Football Association’s league, has produced tremendous talents to front the Black Starlets of Ghana as they partake in the UEFA -16 Development Tournament.
Notable among the squad are Emmanuel Konadu Agyeman(12) and Mohammed Bashiru(16) of Accra Shooting Stars FC, Kingsley Frimpong(20) of Banana Inn FC, Adjetey Nii Adjei Theophilus(4) of Asanska FC, Yiriyon Gideon Yaw(3) of Cedar FC, Tsivanyo Benjamin of Great Corinthian(7) and Ganiwu Fatawu(8) of Union Sportive Avranches FC, a GARFA Division Two League Club, captains the U-17 National Team.
In their first match played against the Serbian side, Ganiwu Fatawu a 15yr old, demonstrated high level of mental strength and confidence, as he manned the mid field and supplied strategic passes to the forwards.
Each of the listed players are proving to the entire world that, Greater Accra RFA is indeed the face of grass-root football.
GARFA is more proud to note that, Benjamin Tsivanyo of Great Corinthian scored two goals to chalk another victory for Black Starlets as they beat the Spanish side who were U-17 World Cup runners-up in the year 2017. The intensely played match ended in a 3:2 win for the Black Starlets.
