The first round of GARFA Women Division One League kicked off February 4, 2023 at the MCDan Park.
The league was intense as new entrant, Jonina Ladies FC made a lasting impression with a swooping 27points, winning all nine matches, accruing 82 goals and conceding only 5goals at the end of the first round leading Zone B league table.
Some of the remarkable players who have been consistent with astounding and thrilling performance from Jonina Ladies FC team are Thelma and Atinga. Spectators never seized to enjoy their glamorous style of play.
Another thrilling performance was with Halifax Queens who have accrued 24 points with 43 goals.
Their player Mercy Attobrah was a delight to watch, beating the defensive structure of the opponent with most contacts with the football.
Group A on the other hand also had Epiphany Warriors Ladies FC which is equally a new entrants, leaving incredible prints in their zone.
They came as an under-dog but subduing all the old clubs with a swooping 25 points, and a total of 51 goals out of 9 matches played. Gifty Acheampong who captains the team, demonstrated great leadership skills and striking performance, making her the play maker of Epiphany Ladies Club. Her immense contribution has carried the team to the top of Zone A League table.
GRA Ladies who are 3 points away from the top of the Group A table has 42 goals out of 9 matches played. They have demonstrated to be a strong side beating Besiktas Ladies FC 11: 0 in their last match. The last set of matches to end the first round were a spectacle to watch. The pairings were great and highly competitive as spectatorship was grand.
Epiphany Warriors FC won against Ideal Ladies FC with a marginal 2:1 score line placing them first on the league table. Jonina Ladies FC also won against Immigration Ladies FC in a 3:1 score line. This match saw amazing techniques and skills leaving the spectators chanting and shouting all through, till the end of the match.

The Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association, Mr. Samuel Aboabire was present to grace the occasion.
The second round of the GARFA Women Division One League is scheduled to start on April 15, 2023 and proposed to end on June 10, 2023.
There shall be Champions of Champions to adjudge the best Women club from GARFA Women Division One league 2022/2023 season for the region.
Depending on the slots available, a number of GARFA Women clubs shall be shortlisted to partake in the Zonal Championship to qualify to the Ghana Premier Women League.
