GARFA REVIEWS FIRST ROUND OF THE 2021/22 DIVISION TWO LEAGUE

The Greater Accra Regional Football Association (Garfa),met representatives of Division Two Clubs in the region and reviewed the First Round of the 2021/22 League.
In his opening remarks,the Garfa Boss Mr. Samuel Aboabire aka Kattaah welcomed all delegates and mentioned that though the First Round went smoothly,his administration deems it fit to invite all members to brainstorm for a better second round.
He added that the First Round unfortunately recorded a few incidents of hooliganism but vowed it won’t be tolerated at all.
Addressing members,the Garfa League Board Chairman, Mr. George Aforklenyuie recounted that the First Round of the League was very competitive and exciting.


He added that,a total of Five Hundred and Sixty Five (565) League Matches were played in the First Round and recorded a total of One Thousand, Five Hundred and Fourty Eight (1,548) Goals.
Furthermore,he mentioned that the First Round of the League recorded Twenty Hatrickers. As per the Referees Reports, Jonathan Sowah from Danbort Fc is a double Hatricker with Anthony Arthur from Best X1 Fc who netted Four Goals in a single League Match.

Garfa Honoured each of the Hatrickers with an Autographed Macron Football.

Danbort Fc and Emmanuel Fc remains the highest scoring clubs in the first round. They scored twenty eight goals each.
Also, seven League Centers have been temporarily banned due to either Poor Nature or Characterised with Holiganism activities during the first round.
These fields are:-

3) Martey Ma Presby Park

4) The Aveinor Terror Park

5) The Kaneshie Bishop Park

6) The Abofu Astroturf

7) Adusa Sharp Arrows Park

The League Board entreated the Garfa Security Committee to closely monitor the League Matches of the clubs below as their fans were very rude during the first round.
These clubs are,

2) New Era Fc

3) Great Ambition Fc

4) Prestige Heights Fc

5) UC United

6) Adusa Sharp Arrows Fc

The Garfa Security Committee Chairperson,DCOP Lydia Donkor cautioned clubs that her outfit will criminalize any further attacks on Match Officials at all League Centers. They will take steps to maintain Law and Order at all League Centers. She further mentioned that arrests shall be made when necessary.
Mr. Sowa Ghartey,a member of the Garfa Disciplinary Committee, apologized for the delay in releasing the Rulings of Protest Cases in the First Round. He promised all cases will be released before the second round resumes.
He further advised clubs who appear before the DC to show rumors and avoid trying to defend or justify their offenses.
He educated members as to how important the Referees Reports are.
Mr. Christian Atsatsa,the Garfa Referees Appointment Committee Chairman, apologized for the unprofessional behaviors of some of the Referees during the first round but was quick to admonish the clubs to desist from attempting to influence the Referees. He educated the clubs on certain aspects of the Laws of the Game.
In his closing remarks,Mr. Samuel Aboabire thanked all the representatives for coming in their numbers and disclosed that the second round of the Garfa League resumes on Friday 8th April 2022 across all the League Centers in the region. He encouraged all clubs to be professional and learn to accept defeats during the second round when it comes their way.
