The Greater Accra Regional Football Association held its Elective Congress yesterday, October 6, 2023 at the GHALCA Conference Hall of the Accra Sports Stadium.
Present at the Congress were Executive Council Members of GARFA, Delegates, Media and the Electoral Commission officials of the GFA represented by Mr. Caesar Kemeh and Lawyer Kofi Darkwa.
Mr. Samuel Aboabire run unopposed for this very Chairmanship election.
Out of the total of 117 delegates expected, 112 were present and majority expressed a vote of confidence for the incumbent Chairman of GARFA, Mr. Samuel Aboabire. He was successfully re-elected and sworn-in as the Chairman for the Greater Accra RFA for the next 4years.
In his speech, he highlighted on the immense support of stakeholders, the executive council members of GARFA and the staff who contributed to the success he chalked in his 4year tenure in office. He admitted that, sponsorship has been a challenge but all efforts are put in place to curb the situation. He also spoke about the introduction of the Division Three Super Cup, where newly promoted Division Three clubs in the region are to compete for a trophy and prize.
He thanked all delegates present and assured them of a fulfilling second term administration.
