GARFA MONTHLY AWARDS 2023/24 FOOTBALL SEASON FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER

The Greater Accra Regional Football Association held the second edition of its monthly award scheme on December 14, 2023 at the GHALCA Conference Hall of the Accra Sports Stadium. It had great attendance and some imminent personalities graced the occasion too.

The award categories still emphasized best referee, best assistant referee, best coach and best player for the said month.

The ceremony started with awarding of gallant Hattrickers for the month of November and 7 players were shortlisted. Christian Ardeyfio of New Town Youth Football Club had a dual hattrick while Emmanuel Tetteh of A5 Rences, John Otoo of Real Ebony, Sherif Mohammed of Progen fc, Enoch Bequine of Shooting Stars, Ibrahim Dawud of Mighty Jets and Nana Yaw Bonsu all had a hattrick from 4 matches each.

GARFA presented an award to the Maiden Super Cup Championship Best player, Aaron Salifu of Asanska Football Club with a branded award plaque.

Three nominations were shortlisted for all four categories and the best statistically won.

In the Best referee category, the nominees were Bless Adjetey Confidence, a class 3 referee, Jerry Adabla, class III referee and Festus Bewu, also class III referee. The Referee Assessors Committee adjudged Jerry Adabla as the best referee for the month of November.

The presentation was done by FIFA Retired Referee and Ghana Premier League Match Commissioner, Mr. Annan Lomotey.

In the category of Best Assistant Referee, the nominees were Solomon Dembang Kugre, a class II referee, Jonas Kwesi Anaisie also a Class II referee and Nathaniel Amesimeku a class III referee. The Referee Assessors Committee of GARFA adjudged Solomon Dembang Kugre as the Best Assistant referee.

Presentation was done by Ghana Division One League Match Commissioner and Retired Class I Referee, Mr. John Mensah.

The Best Coach category saw the likes of Daniel Awuni formally of Danbort FC, representing Tema United FC who played 4matches, won 4, drew 0, lost 0, had 8 goals, conceded 3 goals and accrued 12 points. Augustine Tetteh of Kotoku Shinning Stars also played 4 matches, won 4, drew none, lost none, had 10 goals, conceded 5 goals and accrued 12points. Soccer Bridge was featured this time and was represented by Coach Sackey Odametey. He played 4matches, 3wins, Drew 1, Lot none, scored 10 goals and conceded 3goals and accrued 10points.

The GARFA League Board Committee and Technical Directorate adjudged Augustine Tetteh of Kotoku Shinning Stars as the Best Coach for the month of November.

The Best Player Category saw equally amazing talents who were shortlisted as nominees and they included Enoch Bequine of Accra Shooting Stars Football Club. He played 4 matches out of which he had 3mvp and 6goals. Isaac Tetteh of Record Breakers Football Club who had 3mvp and 2goals and Dennis Appiagyei of Besiktas Academy Football Club who had 3mvp and 5goals after playing 5matches.

Enoch Bequine of Accra Shooting Stars was adjudged the best player for the month of November.

The best referee received an award plaque and a referee uniform, assistant referee received an award plaque and referee flag, best coach received an award plaque, coaches tactical board, stop watch and whistle whiles the best player got an award plaque, football boot and a shin guard.

The Chairman of GARFA, Mr. Samuel Aboabire remarked that, this award event has come to stay and called on all football lovers and sponsors to come and support in kind and in cash.
