The 2019/2020 preliminary round of the MTN FA cup has started with the division one and two teams .
The division two teams which are under the Regional Football Association were under monitoring.
In monitoring them , there was a crunch tie between Emmanuel FC and Teshie Unique FC today at the Nungua town park.
Emmanuel FC hosted Teshie Unique at home as both teams are in the second division in the region .
The match began at exactly 3 pm with both teams not trying to open up but rather trying to steady each other .
However ,both teams played very well in the first half without asking much questions against themselves which yielded into a draw affair in the first half .
The second half kick started with Emmanuel FC threatening their opponent.
Teshie Unique FC were under pressure after Goalkeeper Sodjah Eugene made a huge mistake that aided Emmanuel FC in taking the lead in the 60th minute of the game .
The away team looked very active and were not discouraged by the goal scored against them courtesy their goalkeeper.
Emmanuel FC started to slow the pace of the game by defending yet Teshie Unique FC were able to win a penalty after Boye Bernard of Teshie Unique was fouled in the penalty box .
The penalty was converted by Arthur Prince in the 70th minute .
The game was squared which led to penalty shootout with Teshie Unique FC starting the shootout.
Meanwhile ,Adjetey Jeffrey of Teshie Unique FC squashed the first penalty kick ,whiles Abbey Phillip also wasted his penalty .
Emmanuel FC managed to score four of their takes with Ofori Frank scoring the winning goal for the home team .
The penalty shootout ended in 4-2 after referee Nii Cofffie Gidieon blew the whistle to end the match .
The next fixture under the division two for the MTN FA cup is between Charity FC and Danbort whiles Third World lock horns with Tema Youth .
